This is a fantastic program however, on my computer running Vista, it does not recognize my CD Drive. I'm thinking maybe it is not Vista compatible. Does anyone else have this problem. Works fine on the computer that has XP.
Rating by me would be 2 on this computer and 5 on the one with XP.

very quick, very unbloated. Expensive, but maybe a friend has a disc of it.
Reviewing 7.7.0.1100 (Mar 13, 2007)
this has been my first choice burner for some years now, lets hope they don't go down the bloat road taken by Nero and Roxio. There are a couple of small annoying limitations so having a pre bloat version of Nero installed as well isn't a bad idea.

I agree with CapZap. The GUI on this program is stunning and beautifully designed. It's rare to see such a polished interface on any software.
With Nero losing its original focus and becoming ever more bloated I find myself prefering NTI instead.

Beautiful GUI. Easy to use. But, won't do flac and a quick review doesn't turn up any way to do so. Other than that, it's a great program; I just can't use it given the limitation. Nero, WinAmp, Ashampoo, Burrrn, JetAudio all do flac, ape, Ogg and many other formats.

I have been using NTI ever since it came bundled with my drive, circa 1999, even though I burn the odd boot-disc with Nero. I always prefer NTI, mostly because it supports long file names and simpler interface.

Newest version runs fine on the Vista x86 build...also runs fine on XP with SP2 of course. Used this back with those ancient memorex drives...like the 2X write 2X rewrite and 6X read drive that cost me $600 in 1996!!!
It worked great then, and is great now. I understand it's interface much better than Nero's, that's for sure.

Does what it does well and has a nice simple interface. I do prefer Nero though but that might be because I've been using it for so long.
I'm using NTI CD & DVD Maker now because it works with Vista x64 Beta 2 and I can't get Nero 7 to install.

Does what it says. Very powerful. I use it and Nero...Watch out Nero there may be a new sheriff in town.

I used this program WAYY back when like in 1997. This software isnt on the same level with nero. But cheers to it anyway.

IT SUCKS!!!
It even causes HARDWARE problems, my burner wouldn't even eject and windows error messages.
Stick with NERO.

OMG! I had no idea this thing was still around! When I bought my Memorex 6X2X2 speed drive this software came with it (even had 16 bit version for Windows 3.1). I loved this product...and I love it again. I thought it had disappeared...I'm glad it's still around.

I'm pretty much sold on Nero 7, but this product seems solid for what it does. It all depends on what you need to do.
I thought I had issues with Nero, but it turns out that it was a hardware problem not related to Nero (unstable RAM). I use Nero Vision to create DVD-Video from Divx/Xvid files so Nero is a must for me.
But again, this product is solid and may be for you. I have not tested the latest update.

I've changed my review. Nero is occasionally crashing my system and this works perfectly.
Even though Nero has "more" stuff, this does exactly what I want, no more, no less.
Well, actually I haven't tried the backup as I have Acronis True Image 9.
Reviewing 7.0.0.3727 (Jul 6, 2005)
I think it is one of the best burning software avaible. I've tested Ahead Nero and Roxio Easy CD, but this one is one of the greatest application of that kind. For me: 5/5
Reviewing 7.0.0.2201 (Apr 9, 2005)
This is it! I like it very much! Honestly, I was tired by Nero 6.xxx which always has some issues (I used to use Nero 5.5 which was almost perfect when I used it with my Ricoh 9120, but it does not support my NEC ND-3520). Nero 6.6.0.8a refused to burn DVD+R if booktype was set to DVD-ROM, previous versions had problems with mini CD-Rs and DVD-Rs. Always something :( I checked some other software (Roxio - very good, but too expensive and too complex, Padus - too buggy, even worse than Nero, etc.). I bought NTI and EVERYTHING works. Moreover, the interface is very nice (I like it, however, I have used burners for almost 6 years, but I like when software catch my eye)

The shiny new ui is just what the new people need. Reminds me of the Nero wizard that Ahead had in the 5.x series.
It's easier to teach people how to use it.
