   This decoder is crap. The quality of video between using Media Player Classic/PowerDVD XP codec and WMP 10/PureVideo Decoder codec is identical. I see no improvement.

   I gave it a high rating because it works as advertised. I've tried it on XP and Vista with several applications with no problems on at least 4 different computers.
   
   However, there is very little difference between DVD decoders now and they are probably all almost exactly the same.
   
   I would invest my money in Nero 7 Ultra which has an amazing suite of applications which I've tested thoroughly. The latest Nero Showtime is very good, but if you prefer another program like WMP11 then it will use the Nero DVD codec. Another excellent program is J River Media Center. Version 12 is being released soon (30day demo available) and it has now matured into a great media player, especially if you have collections of video files.
   
   I believe that this codec should be FREE with the purchase of NVidia video cards anyway.

   This decoder is excellent for any Nvidia or non-Nvidia cards, but this is not a new release...

   That is the reason I not use NVIDIA for nothing, even know that their video card are good, but experience with costumer support and my old NVIDIA card let me to ATI. There are not super but at least are better than NVIDIA

   What an amazing experience! I downloaded Nvidia DVD Decoder Gold and not only didn't it work but I then experienced a nightmare trying to deal with Nvidia. I have no choice now but to tell my credit card company to refuse payment.
   
   When it didn't work, I went to the Nvidia website to find tech support. To get that support, I had to enter in a Customer Care number that was supposed to be sent to me but which wasn't. I received three emails from Nvidia after purchase and the Customer Care number was on none of them.
   
   So I called Nvidia customer support. They gave me the phone number for technical support. I called that but they don't answer and do not return calls. So I called Nvidia customer support back and reached a woman who was unbelievable rude. It was amazing. Not only did she not let me even describe the problem (she keeping cutting in telling me such things as, "It's not my job," etc. Then she told me that I should go to the Nvidia site and request that the customer care number be sent to me. I told her that I searched the Nvidia sight but could not find any way to send in such a request. She said, "What do you mean?" What could I say? I don't know how to make it any more clear..... I could find nothing on the Nvidia sight about how I could have the Customer Care number sent to me. She replied, "I guess I'm just stupid."
   
   I then asked to talk to her supervisor. She put me on hold and forgot me.
   
   I called Customer Care again and a woman gave me a website to reach where I could request the customer care number. I read it back to her to confirm that I had gotten it correctly. I then tried to go to that website but it was invalid.
   
   I called Customer Service yet again. That woman told me that she never heard of the website address that I was given in the last call and she gave me a website address that just turned out to be the regular Nvidia home page. I was back where I started!
   
   Now, to get tech support, I need a Customer Care number that I was not given when I purchased the product. (One of the customer support people told me that they get lots of complaints that customers do not receive that number in their order confirmation. So I need to get the Customer Care number. But I have to get the Customer Care number from technical support but I cannot reach them without the Customer Care number!!!!
   
   I don't know how Nvidia stays in business.
