though i don't use nero for windows anymore (since 5.5x) i was surprised what a good burning app they made for linux users. i run it on debian and ubuntu , both 64 bit, it never had let me down, k3b did a lot, crashes, burning coasters, not starting at all and so on.
for me it was hard to decide if i should rate "4" or "5". but i will rate "5" because of the features that were added in the last versions.

Blu-ray, and HD DVD copy/burn/support i think that pretty much beats k3b ect ect.

until a Blu-ray, and HD DVD alternative comes along its worth the $20 .

I like this far better than the Windows version for several of reasons: (1) you get all the HD/Blu-Ray options, same as WIN, but at 64-bit, (2) it costs only $25, and (3) it's only a 17M download compared to the 200M of useless crap dumped into the WIN version. And yes, it definitely beats the crap out of other Linux burners.

As others mentioned, the screenshot is outdated. Here's better Nero Linux screenshots.

The picture is outdated. I tried Nero Linux under Ubuntu 8.04 and the application looked just like a native application designed specifically for Gnome or KDE. It didn't look like a Windows application ported over to Wine at all.

Otherwise, Gnome and KDE don't have anything that remotely comes close to Nero Linux.

K3B is the only app. for Linux that bests this. Brassero and Gnome Baker don't compete, since they can't be used to burn video DVD.

If you don't burn video DVD though, it'd be silly to even consider Nero
