NeroVision Express guides you through the whole process of creating DVDs, VCDs and SVCDs in an easy and innovative way.
So imagine being able to take all your home movies or video recordings, and transfer them to DVD or CD in a few easy steps. Or what about the real time video capture from your digital camcorder in preparation for that ultimate movie creation? Well its all possible, the new video-authoring application from the creators of Nero.
Reviewing 3.1.0.25 (Sep 29, 2006)
I had some problems with audio/video sync but the application in it's whole is really good, it's user-friendly and it doesn't require the user to know anything about transcoding.
The program does not work too well with large DV files, transcoding your DV to mpeg2 pleases the app a lot.
I'm not sure the product is freeware. There are two versions - one with the Yahoo Toolbar and one with out, perhaps the one without the tool is free.
Reviewing 3.1.0.25 (Feb 4, 2006)
I like Nero Recode. I mainly use it to shrink a DVD so that it fits into a standard DVD (4.3 gigs); Nero recode is much faster than DVDShrink and the quality is good. But the SIZE bug is still there: in many cases the resulting files are too large and exceed the capacity of a normal media.
Reviewing 3.1.0.25 (Jan 31, 2006)
This is for Nero 6. I recommend going to Nero's site and selecting the update that DOES NOT include the Yahoo Tool bar. But that's just me ;)

Reviewing 3.1.0.14 (Jul 8, 2005)
I noticed since last update in the about section it's not called nerovision express anymore, it's labeled "nero digital"..hmmm well, anyways GREAT STUFF!!
Reviewing 3.1.0.11 (Jun 15, 2005)
About Recode:
ND AVC still THE BEST codec around here (and slowest also), and ND ASP still the fastest codec (can't say anything about quality)
But Nero Recode is a bit bugged, while developers (i askd them on doom9 forum) swear, what all will be fixed.
Can't rate other progs in this package, because they're useless for me :)
And yes - it's not freeware!
Reviewing 3.1.0.0d (Apr 20, 2005)
5 stars for speed, quality, and ease of use
-1 star for semi-pro configuration and conversion options - there should be much more settings, avaible after pressing "more" or sth like that. in that way, either noob or pro can use program that will suit their needs.
1 star for "freeware" lie.
overall:2.5, so in that case I rate it 3.
Reviewing 3.1.0.0 (Feb 23, 2005)
Replying to pjayant's comment.
Unfortunately some capture card co.'s hardware is proprietary, I believe the ATI capture chipset is one of them. You can only use their software to capture the video.
Reviewing 3.1.0.0 (Feb 23, 2005)
Yor wrote FREEWARE - it is not freeware, because after the 30-day trial time it works not again.
But the software works, this is ok.
But I miss a revisionslist here - what's NEW ??

NeroVision Express 3 unable to capture video from TV Tuner or Composite source
The Equipment I have : Pentium IV motherboard 1024MB RAM, ATI Radeon AIW 8500 DV, Sony DVD RW DRU 540-A
The Software for live TV capture: ATI MMC 7.1, for authoring and burning DVD: Sonic MyDVD 5, NeroVision Express 3
My Objective: Capture live TV broadcast directly on DVD+R or DVD RW
Each of the above HW or SW components works on my computer system independently. I can capture a live TV program on HARD DISK in AVI or
mpeg-2 format, using ATI's TV Tuner in the MMC or recorded on VCR tape using the composite source Option.
Similarly, I can use MyDVD 5 to author and create a DVD from mpeg-2 files recorded by using the video capture functionality of ATI’s MMC 7.
But I am interested in using the DVD Writer on my PC for recording movies directly on a DVD RW medium. With this objective, when I open NeroVision Express 3 for creating a DVD VR, the video of the selected channel from the Composite source, the video is only top half, distorted and B&W. In the Settings box, the device being used is shown correctly as ATI’s Rage Theatre Capture but I cannot start recording because the error message says “ no signal detected, recording is disabled.
Nero Readme file does not say if the Raytheon 8500 DV video capture card of ATI is not recognized. In fact, the video box clearly mentions the ATI Rage Theatre capture as the device under use. Then why is the recording disabled and what will make it enabledZ?

Another big company getting desperate as their bread and butter becomes so common a knowledge that you can get better apps for free (on this site).
For all the BS - including the lie that this is freeware - they should get a zero rating.
Reviewing 3.0.1.4 (Oct 27, 2004)
Generally good. But the authors make the same wrong statement as the version 2. This version is NOT FREEWARE. You can work with this version only up to the end of the month. So that you can work as full version, you need a registration key.
Reviewing 2.1.2.12 (Jun 6, 2004)
good program but some things yet fixed
1 support just 80 min cd's(what with 90- 100 min)
2 mpeg files ready for burning are encode again:-(
3 can't create image file (sometimes its good:-))
beside that i think this software is very good
Reviewing 2.1.2.9 (Apr 30, 2004)
I'm a registered user of this commercial (and NOT freeware) program. But I'm getting more and more irritated. I'm using different players for different videoformats (avi, mpg, etcetera). I'm using the players I like. Whenever I install Nero Vision, Nero Showtime is also installed. There's no way to exclude it from installing. I DON'T WANT NERO SHOWTIME!! And even worse: it claims all the formats it can handle, so I have to switch them all back to their original state (program) after an update of Nero Vision. This is really getting me pissed off more and more...
Reviewing 2.1.2.9 (Apr 30, 2004)

@TigerTou: You must be talking about easy cd creator when you talk about bloatware dont you? Also about massive...
btw, my nero dir is 102mb and my easy cd creator 7.0 is 780mb

It works good, but but there is an untruth: THIS VERSION IS NOT -FREEWARE- !!! After the testperiod of 30 days it works not more !
Reviewing 2.1.2.0 (Mar 18, 2004)
I've used Nero products for years and years. Too bad the company hasn't gotten any more honest during all that time. Their applications have improved much faster than their ethics. This is not freeware, it's bloatware for which a substantial cost is incurred after the very brief test period. EXPRESS is, apparently, one inseparable component in a massive application. If one ventures to their website, a barage of ads is encountered ... with no explanation of the EXPRESS application's download provisions, eventual costs and limitations. This is a deceptive trade practice, pure and simple. Shame on NERO.

Good work, but I miss here in the "FileForum" the history log. The file is very big.
I would therefore like to know whether this version is necessary for me.
I need more information for it (as a history file).
Reviewing 2.1.0.3 (Dec 13, 2003)
This is freeware if you own Nero6. Check Nero's site for new features in Recode2, called NeroDigital included in NeroVisionExpress 2.1.0.0 and up. No need to use DVD X Copy Express anymore. Nice holiday bonus. ;-)
-1:1 DVD to DVD Copy with original menu
-Remake a DVD from one or multiple DVD movies
-Fit the Nero Digital files to DVD, CD or custom size
-5.1 channel audio support
-Unique Watch-while-you-Burn mode
-Burn-at-once technology

fanbanlo,
Are U running the full (non demo version) of Nero 6.x. In other words have U entered a serial for validity. If so Nero Vision won't be a demo.
Reviewing 1.0.41 (Nov 22, 2002)
Functionality:
Capture -- It recognizes DV attached to
Firewire. however,it does not recognize (internal ATI ALL IN WONDER RADEON 7500 AND 8500) It looks like Dazzle product, which does not and will not recognize ATI All IN Wonder. Buy Dazzle comes with Hardware. Nero is software,
thus, it is strange that it cannot handle ATI ALL IN WONDER
RADEON.
Conversion -- slow but it works. Still TMPGEnc is much
better.
