NewsReactor is a tool to download binaries from usenet newsgroups. It scans, combines, and downloads files from a selected newsgroup.
No
- Fixed decoding of yEnc files with new header (again)
Reviewing Build 20080807.08 (Aug 9, 2008)
Works good, and was gonna be a 5. But to cumbersome.
Reviewing Build 9022 (May 10, 2006)
Hard not to notice the consistent improvements throughout the program. This is a solid build.
Reviewing Build 8909 (Jul 17, 2004)
Nice interface, but needs some work. The "First Time" setup wizard stalled, and then died. After configuring NewsReactor manually (through a very small dialog), and scanning a newsgroup, it was slow. Then it automatically downloads binaries in raw text, with no permanent option to decode. Finally, once you manage to open the file, it can only do so through an external viewer, which is a pain. XNews is still head and shoulders above the rest in the newsreader category.
Reviewing 1.0 Build 8701 (Nov 26, 2002)
This must be the best grabber out there. It really works for me. The simple startup wizard got me going in 2 minutes. New versions come very often. I tried many newsgrabbers, but this is the one that does the job without hassle.
