Norton Power Eraser eliminates deeply embedded and difficult to remove crimeware that traditional virus scanning doesn't always detect.

Because the Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect these threats, there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should use this tool very carefully, and only after you have exhausted other options.

It literally killed a freshly installed Windows XP SP3 with no updates and no software installed.

Do NOT use it under Windows XP!

Latest version (1.2.0.1) is point-and-click easy to use and seems to be quite a bit more comprehensive than early betas. It identified and removed a number of fake AV infections that were not being identified by another anti-virus software package. Aggressive scan mode seems very thorough, but requires that users have a decent working knowledge of their systems and what they're trying to remove.

Another stupid app for dumb people.. Funny, but these kind of programs make much more disaster than original ,,crimeware,, and free, because Symantec do not respond for it.
