I installed Norton Utilities on two different computers. Both computers ran properly before installing Norton. After running the product, both systems crashed. The information stored on one computer is unrecoverable. Norton could not correct the problem, and will offer no settlement to have it repaired.
LOOK FOR ANOTHER PRODUCT TO PURCHASE!

Norton Utilities back when it was written by Peter Norton was a must have in every computer users disl box, now it's just a pale imitation...

    Avoid.

Norton Utilities was a must have 10-15 years ago but now just about everything it offers is available as freeware. Not only that but the freeware apps take up a fraction of the space Utilities does & are far less intrusive.

How a company can make the brilliant Norton Internet Security & this garbage at the same time eludes me.

Every dog has it's day & for this program it was many years ago.

Not a big fan of anything from Symantec...

Tried this and it did as advertised, but there's nothing special. Seeing speed disk again was kind of nice, but there's plenty of free defragmentation/optimizer apps out there.

Registry scan found loads of non-issues (mainly in the Add/Remove section), and offered to delete uninstall keys for apps that are still installed.

The need for 2 system services for SpeedDisk and Disk Doctor was a bit ridiculous. Old NU versions never needed those.

These newer versions also lack some of the tools from the older NU versions. I still have my copy of NU 2005 (from SystemWorks) laying around in a folder on my desktop. It needs no installation, and has all the stuff that this version is missing.
