Small, fast, no big problems or disappoints since the first version (v3) I used. So no need to rate it low, though I don't need Unite. But i.e. DragonFly simply ROCKS if you're a web developer/designer!!

I like Opera, I find myself switching between Opera & Chrome 4 a lot. Since the 10beta cycle I've used the mail client as well, something I never managed to do before. Using it as a desktop Gmail client it is great.
Browsing is good, it's feature rich, right out of the box.

    Sadly it's still missing:
easy way to integrate to delicious.com, STILL no real stumbleupon either.

I'm yet to be convinced by the whole Opera Unite thing, to me, it just doesn't have a purpose or point... but I'd like to be proved wrong!

Opera widgets was a terrible idea, and one they should ditch - they are rubbish and pointless and add nothing of value to the browser/email experience.

The 10 cycle is no where near as fast as it used to be, and it does use lots more memory than before. Chrome is easily faster in every regard. Yet I do still keep coming back to it, it's faster than Firefox, it's very stable - even in the 10.10 betas. Other than a couple of bugs I find with Flickr.com (adding notes etc) I find it works on every other site I come across. It doesn't need boundless add-on like firefox - (some of the add-on for FF are brilliant mind you)

Different people like different browsers - FF is good, Chrome is good, Arora is good (but instable), Opera is good. IE is terrible. Whatever your browser preference there are a lot of good alternatives to the terrible Internet Explorer.

IE has the largest user base by far with half of that number still using IE 6 so you can take that Opera low user base comment with a grain of salt.

Secunia continues to say that Opera IS the safest browser as it has (and always has) patched any exploits, something NO other browser (despite fanboy rhetoric) can claim. Go to Secunia and check for yourself.

It IS very lightweight and my side by side test keep proving that. Something like FF (STILL) uses 3x as much memory as Opera with the same amount of tabs open not to mention the inexplicable CPU spikes in FF. The funny thing is that it does this being packed with an email client, torrent client etc. etc. vs a bare bones FF.

Which leads to that last thing. IE and Chrome are very minimal browsers not offering a lot of options as they're intended to be only browsers. FF has a plug-in system with a good community making various plug-ins with many designed to emulate the very things that come standard (and are implemented better) in Opera.

Rhetoric don't mean sh8, the proof is there for you once you open your eyes.

The only issue I had with Opera was with very few sites not rendering properly but I've not come across that in any of the version 10 builds including the surprisingly stable alphas.
