ModemTest allows users to test their dial up modem. It performs low level testing that is independent of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the TCP/IP settings on the computer. It allows the modem to be tested in addition to the phone line the modem is connected to. It provides a method for system integrators and computer repair centers to test both internal and external modems. By a process of elimination, home users can also use it to help isolate Internet connection problems to a faulty modem, phone line, or their ISP service. It logs any data corruption and incorporates a modem speed test which reports the initial connection speed and the actual throughput.
Yes - 30 day timeout

This shareware is function restricted.
I personally use Qick Modem test, it free and if you want use it only 1 times in a year, 'PassMark ModemTest' is to expensive for it.
I'm not a commercial pc-worker or repair computers, therefore i see not a reason to give money out for it.

Dirkes, can you read? I'm seriously wondering. The product description says:
It provides a method for system integrators and computer repair centers to test both internal and external modems. By a process of elimination, home users can also use it to help isolate Internet connection problems to a faulty modem...
If you repair computers for a living, you don't just replace hardware and then tell the customer, "I didn't feel like testing anything".
And this utility can be useful for home users under certain circumstances as well--not every modem cost only $1.50 like yours.

We do not relly need this kind of software, if a modem is "deat", a new modem is cheaper
