Phex is a multi-plattform and spyware free gnutella client. All you need is a operation system that offers a Java Runtime Environment. It is completly free, open source and without spyware. It offers a research functionlity that will find new download candidates automaticly for you. You can even specify the search terms that are used for research. It will look for files that match the search terms and the file size of the download. Combined with the resume download feature across hosts, it offers you a very powerfull download engine.

    Cabos and Frostwire are java based and they are great porgrams . Java bashing seems to only happen with those who have crappy computers .. This thing runs fine on my pc .

    The upgrade is pretty good . I like how i can add more connections .. Good program . I like it .

    If you dont mind java. Google for FROSTWIRE which is made by Limewire team and no paying for pro version crap. If JAVA is not your thing then ARES 1.8.8, soulseek and morpheus (with annoying ads but needed) are the best alternate. Phex is no no.

    To Nikkie,

    No, it's time to get a new P2P app. If MS can't get people to upgrade so that they can use Vista, the makers of this app haven't a hope in hell off getting people to upgrade just so that a java app runs at a reasonable speed.
