1. Phonashera costs NOTHING (the hardware is already there, you won't buy new stuff), while the hardware solution costs extra $150 US. 2. building a full duplex system will be a lot easier, but the fact is that voice modems ARE NOT full duplex. However, Phonashera uses the hardware that you can find ANYWHERE. 3. I think that the cost-nothing solution that Phonshera provides poses a threat to other costly solutions.

The idea of using a crappy/unstable voice modem for VoIP is so 90's...so Free World Dialup version 1'ish... So damn SILLY in this age. You wanna use your real phoneline over the net? Buy a Sipura 3000 which is a STANDARDS BASED ATA with a port to hook to a live phoneline.
