PinNotes is a simple, but effective sticky note program. Allowing full control and rich text support, each sticky note that is generated can be saved, customised (including transparency, window position, etc) and re-opened when the program is opened again. Color schemes are available, along with extra options, such as Always on Top (for each individual note window), an Editing Panel, Position locking, Flashing support, show notes at certain times and WinShade mode (available for both the note and control windows). Extensive options are also available for the entire program via the Options window.

• All directory accessing and controlling codes has been completely re-written from the ground up
• All file accessing and controlling codes have also been re-written
• All object handling code has been restructured
• MAJOR: All settings are now stored in 'settings.xml' (all previous settings will not work)
• All >> symbols in the buttons have been removed as they were no longer needed
• Updated the 'About' window (better appearance and does not get confused with other windows)
• MAJOR: All note settings are now stored in XML files (all previous settings will not work)
• You can now Drag & Drop files onto the 'Opened Notes' section of the main window
• Fixed a fault that caused Note windows to open slowly
• The main window now shows 'No Entry' panels when there are no items in the lists
• Massive enhancements to all start-up code (should be faster and more efficient)
• The search field is now disabled when there are no items in the list(s)
• When a note is opened (via drag & drop or 'Open'), it is immediately focused
• The 'Check For Updates' window now defaults to the new PinNotes website as an alternative update source
• Lots of small changes to improve speed and performance

Add me to the list of non-dot-netters, one must admit what bellgamin says is true, and besides the less filler thrown into an OS, the better. Stickies by Tom Revell at zhornsoft.co.uk is one I've found quite good.

I agree with Bellgamin. Dotnet is crap, and frankly so is this program. Get ZHorn Software's Stickies instead. Free, no dotnet reliance and lots of very useful features including working checkboxes that you can put in each sticky note to make them into mini "to-do" lists.

Each note seemed to create a tab on the task bar. Using 'Stickies' which doesn't.

@ bellgamin When you review a program can you please stick to the point. Like how good is the program. Does it function well. Does it have bugs. How well is it supported. This program uses .NET as do many, many other programs. Frankly if you have a gripe about .NET find the section on that and post you comments there. As for this program ... It functions well. Looks good. Five stars.
