it's pretty sad that you have to pay in that way for alleged "free" ware......

    0.9.5 Build 105 Beta (Oct 6, 2004)

This is adware. On their "no adware" page, Pluck has their own definition of adware, so they simply define it in a way which doesn't include them.

Basically, their ads only appear inside their program (not pop-ups) and only when you are running their program. On the other hand, they are monitoring what you read inside their program, in order to display targeted ads to you, and they are using your bandwidth for those ads. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you agree to it, but it's still misleading to say Pluck is not adware.

I've been using Pluck 0.9.2.53 for about a month now. It's been very stable and an excellent RSS reader. Best of all, it's FREE! The few wishlist items that I had have been confirmed by their support team that they are coming in the next update.
