Windows 2000/9x/XP / Open Source / 2,663 downloads

Portable Gaim allows you to carry your instant messaging client with you on a USB thumbdrive, iPod, portable hard drive or any other portable media. You can plug it right into any Windows computer and use it just like you would on your own. It is a repackaged version of the popular Gaim IM client designed with portability in mind, so it has all the same great features of Gaim -- including support for AOL/ICQ, IRC, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo and more -- but there's nothing to install.

I had to stop using gaim when it was incompatible with the GTK version required by GIMP however this version works with the GIMP GTK installed. I will probably stick with Miranda but it is nice to have a working gaim anyway.

Excellent Utility, I screwed my Gaim, and I couldn't make it work but this doesn't depend on any previous setting of Gaim. The only problem, I had with this one was smileys. I don't know why I can't see the smileys, maybe I need to download an additional file, dono!
