RAR Password Cracker is intended for finding forgotten passwords to RAR archives of versions 2.XX. It finds by the method of exhaustive search all possible combinations of characters or using passwords from a list. The program is able to save a current state of operation. The skilful configuring allows to perform parallel processing. The process with selfextracting archives (SFX) and multivolume archives is supported.

    The good news:
    Rar Password Cracker version 4.12 works as indicated.

    The bad news regarding decrypting Rar/Winrar versions 3.00 - 3.60:
    Rar's encryption is VERY hard to decrypt unless the cypher was poor to begin with. So, if the file you are trying to decrypt has a GOOD password, you can forget about cracking it unless your with the CIA, etc.. PERHAPS they could. Otherwise I believe decades, centuries, or more might be needed to decipher a rar file with a well thought out "password".

    Perhaps older versions of Rar/Winrar have weaker encryption and are easier to decrypt.

    I should also say I am not a cryptography expert, this is only how things appear to me.

    no support for winrar 3 files
    i was not able to brute force the examples files with all the keyboard keys ...
