R-Studio 4.5.127446

Publisher's Description:

R-Studio is a comprehensive data recovery and undelete program renowned for its ability to recover mission-critical data lost to viruses, malicious attacks, and hardware failures or operating system crashes. It supports FAT12/16/32, NTFS, NTFS5, UFS1/UFS2 (FreeBSD/OpenBSD/NetBSD), Ext2FS/3FS (Linux) file systems and functions on local and network disks, even if partitions are formatted, damaged or deleted.
New additional file recovery algorithm increases the quality of file recovery and recovers files not recognized in file system metadata. Dynamic disk and RAID are supported as well as recovering encrypted files, compressed files and alternative data streams. Disk and files content can be viewed and edited in the hexadecimal editor, which supports NTFS file-attribute editing. Extended Viewer Plugin allows viewing a content of the found files to estimate recovery chances prior to purchasing. Flexible parameter settings give you absolute control over data recovery.

This application is the best of its kind but remember to always backup important data on a regular basis and in case you haven't followed the aforementioned advice STOP writing anything to your HDDs(logical drives) as soon as you have noticed your data has been lost.

One caveat: R-Studio (true as for 2.X version) is unable to restore any files from ext3fs (linux) partitions. This situation might have changed since that time.

I havent tried the 3.x versions but I have experience with 2.x versions. Never had a problem with it, it cannot restore EVERY file, but thats how it works. It works most of the times tho, I never had a problem with files I really need to recover :) And another cool thing if you just sitting around doing nothing is to search for deleted files and see what things you deleted 6 month ago or even longer. 5 of 5 for being the best recover-software out there, my opinion.

This is one of the best (though pricy)file recovery tools out there.
If you need it, its worth the price.
Takes it own sweet time scanning, but is quite accurate when done.

I lost my 250GB NTFS boot drive when something went crazy and erased my partition table. I thought everything was lost. I tried several tools and could not recover any data until I tried R-Studio.

I removed the drive and mounted in on another XP system with a USB-IDE adapter. I installed the Demo of R-Studio and let it loose on my drive. A while later it came back with several candidates for my partition. It let me view the contents of each possibility. I was thrilled when I saw that one of them had my data. The demo allowed me to recover a small PDF (under 64k) to verify that the program was working. When I opened the recovered file and saw my tax return I was happy to pay the $80 to get the working R-Studio.

I was able to recover all of my data using this program. I admit that I should have had a backup but I was lazy/too busy. This program saved me.
