AWESOME program. Tons of updates, for apps too, not only drivers. Good job, RadarSync. Free, huh?

wow, the new RadarSync (2.0.0.5) - huge improvement! The detection is very accurate (at least for me). Also they implemented a cool feature, where you can create "packs" of freeware.

Spyware? Though it gives you an option to NOT install it's own toolbar, default search engine, etc... it still stole my default search engine and added its toolbar. It also performed a "fake" uninstall by only removing it's entry from the Vista Programs list leaving all files in place. ESPECIALLY an undeletable program folder which I haven't yet been able to delete with an administrator account.

Aside from that :P some of its recommendations found a version I have installed in another boot parition or used bad logic on version v10.x.x.x being older than v5.x.x.x? It also recommended replacing MS Intellipoint w/ Synaptic drivers because they had a higher version?

For downloading updates, pretty much keeps you inside their interface or website making it almost impossible to confirm that you are indeed downloading the latest/correct update.

Though UpdateStar doesn't include driver updates, its less scary to use, however I've found these kind of programs have many false positives (seems to need an update, but the version number logic is bad)

My score for this prog. has dropped quite a few points due to it providing at least twice as many incorrect recommendations as correct ones. The database they are using seems to be full of errors particularly with respect to incorrect version numbers and recommending "version upgrades" to completely different software products. I also found XP versions with no Vista support recommended for use on Vista. It still has some usefulness but it's becoming more and more limited thanks to the error rate in its database.

Not fake...recommended by quite a few reputable sources too...works well and without problems. Worth a high rating if only because of the lack of problems and the file being free as opposed to alternative pay to use systems.
