One additional 'problem' with RMF that I forgot to mention in my last review. In addition to the absurd price, the author steadfastly refuses to allow the USER to select the default file extensions to search for. Instead, they are hard coded into the EXE file and you cannot make the program load with default extensions to search for other than what the author thinks the defaults should be. A serious flaw, in my opinion.

Unless you're an idiot, Recuva works fine. $70 is an outrageous fee.

I downloaded Recover My Files after my wife accidentally deleted the My Pictures folder from our computer. We were upset because we thought we had lost an entire year's worth of family digital photos. After installing the software, I am happy to report that we located and restored all of the pictures and have now backed them up to an online backup service. We are very happy. It was easy to use.

I have tested both Recover My Files and Recuva extensively. Recover My Files is far superior and discovers far more recoverable files than Recuva does. In all fairness, however, Recuva IS FREE, so that accounts for a lot. RMF should be priced less than it is, for sure. $70. is WAY out of line for a file recovery utility. The author would be far better off charging, say $20. and having far fewer people using cracked copies of it. My opinion, of course. The only reason I gave this a '3' instead of a '5' is the absurd price...

This program worked pretty good for me. I deleted my documents from my hard drive and recycle bin and this software was able to retrieve it for me without a hitch. What more could you ask for?
