Sonique 2 is a Media Player application that is currently in production by Team Sonique. It expands on many design ideas from Sonique 1.x but is built on entirely new technology. It has now been in various states of production for over 2 years.
The user interface is based around "Mantis," which provides a complete environment for creating any sort of UI imaginable. Mantis has nothing whatever to do with Media players per se, it could be used to create a swooby interface for any sort of application.

Used it before, does the same as any other media player does. The visualizations rock.

Soniqe was great back in the day's when Winamp could only use rectangular skins. It's still a great program, unfortunately I'm personally not willing to remove winamp or quintessential CD; leaving no real use for it since it's basically the same functions/roles that they play.
For those out there who dislike winamp, or don't use it - or like eyecandy and skinning and such - sonique is a definate go. It does have a slightly higher memory footprint than even Winamp 5 - but it's also very - interactive? or ... friendly is another word. It's a lil' dif. to explain.
It's pretty good.

Sonique was my favorite music player when version 1.3 came out. Version 1.5 and everything after got further away from what I was looking for, and I eventually went back to Winamp. All of these players have the same thing in common -- they're trying to do too much. Just give me a configurable music player... like foobar.
