StartupMonitor is a new utility that notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. This stops annoying tray applications that register themselves behind your back, and also provides a line of defense against trojans like Netbus and BackOrifice.
Reviewing 1.02 (Oct 24, 2004)
Perfect? No, StartupMonitor 1.02 ignores the "HKCU/.../RunOnce" and "HKLM/.../RunOnceEx" keys, all services (which is a huge thing to ignore), and some others. But it does monitor the basic startup locations, including the Startup directory itself.
I do give it kudos for its incredibly tiny footprint: Right now it is taking up 60 KB of memory on my system, and has used almost zero CPU time. This is rare.
