Windows 2000/9x/Server 2003/XP / Freeware / 898 downloads

TextShield is a compact word processor with a wealth of features. Beside of those features available in most word processors, it has also more advanced, but easy-to-use, features. It can for example compress files automatically using the popular ZIP compression, which can make them up to 95% smaller. It saves files in the universal RTF format, which every decent word processor supports, or in plain text: it was made to act as both a word processor and a plain text editor. It has a build-in HTML converter and the ability to save to the Microsoft Word and other formats using Microsoft converters. It supports advanced formatting features, like hyperlinks, advanced underlining styles, Rainbow Colors and even 3D Text.

This is a pleasant surprise. Very good word processor. I tried a lot of them and this has to be the best and most stable freeware that I tried. It definitly deserves more popularity.

A great piece of software. I use it on my notebook. It is very stable on my old P150 with only 24Mb RAM. Recommended.
