Transmission is a free BitTorrent client written from scratch in C. It aims to be as efficient as possible.
Reviewing 2.50 Beta 1 (Feb 13, 2012)
Windows review:
Just like when I decided to give Deluge a try, I shouldn't have given one to this. It's actually the exact same experience:
slow and cumbersome
hijacked torrent association without an option not to.
no portable version
minimal options
doesn't share enough bandwidth
It is in the beta stages for windows but after the bad taste Deluge for windows left in my mouth I don't know if I'll try this again. UNINSTALLED!

Look under add-ons on their site, the1st link is to an unofficial windows port.
I haven't tried it yet (and I don't have a mac), so I can't say anymore about either.
I'l probably give the port a shot when I get a chance, and if it's better than utorrent, then I'll switch.
Here's the Transmission-Qt for Windows homepage:

I use this under Mint and it kicks the crap out of the mess uTorrent has become in version 3 under Windows. This is a small, fast and efficient piece of software - everything a Torrent client should be.
It is the very antithesis of Fuze.
FIVE stars.
