BETA (June 6, 2004)

Windows 2000/2003/9x/XP / Shareware; $10.00 / 2,730 downloads

TrayThis is a user-friendly shareware taskbar management tool. Through user-defined rules, it can perform certain actions on any running application window or notification icon. A rule defines which action should be applied to which window or notification icon. For example, you can define a rule that will hide an e-mail application (e.g. Mozilla Thunderbird) to the taskbar notification area (system tray) when the window is minimized.

TrayThis defines two types of rules, a window rule and a notification icon rule. Each rule contains a set of identifiers to determine which window or notification icon is to be acted upon, an action, and a criteria for when the action will be performed.

    wickedsun,

    Thanks for the excellent review.

The "Use wildcards" option allows you to use the '*' character in the window title (or notification icon tooltip). For example, if you wanted to match any windows starting with "F" and ending with "x", you could use the following title: "F*x".

As for the help, I am in the process of adding the online "help" (faq), and I hope it will provide enough information once complete.

    Hope that helps,
    Eric

Best tray management I have ever seen.

I'm just wondering what the "use wildcards" does? I can't figure it out.

A help file would be very nice ;)

    Edit:

I figured out why the wildcare feature didnt work. Stupid me :/

Hi Eric! I see that you are following the ratings closely. A clearer screenshot would be nice. I also look at the cost of the program versus updates and upgrades offered, along with the value it adds and ease of use. I try to pre evaluate the software before I try it and purchase it for use.

Sorry about that. I'm currently working on getting a website up. In the meantime what would you like to know?

Thanks, oomingmak! Also don't forget one of the best features in TrayThis!, it can hide the tray icons that other (user-unfriendly in my opinion) applications add to the tray. Just create a Tray Icon Rule and specify the application or the tooltip of the tray icon you wish to remove. Also please feel free to send me any problems, suggestions, or enhancements you would like to see. Thanks again.
