TrojanHunter searches for and removes trojans from your system. You have the ability to add custom trojan definitions and detection rules.
Yes - 30 day timeout
- Scanner now utilizes all cores
- Various fixes
Reviewing 5.2.991 Beta (Feb 14, 2010)
I tested this on an infected system and it failed.
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware did take care of the trojan and it is a free program.
Reviewing 5.0 Beta 1 (Aug 30, 2007)
So what happens when you run teh scan and it says "You are running Windows Vista, the biggest trojan around. Please format and install Windows XP"?
Reviewing 4.7 Build 932 (Jun 26, 2007)
Err... $50 initially plus $20 each year thereafter?
This program might be good and have some use but the pricing scheme is ridiculous.
I'd rather spend the money on good booze.
Reviewing 4.6 Build 930 (Sep 14, 2006)
Version 4.6 provides a newly designed Quarantine feature in TrojanHunter. This is a continuation of enhancements being incorporated in this powerful trojan + other malware detection/removal program. Many of the enhancements are in direct response to user suggestions and requests. New versions and builds are routinely issued so that customers can/do reap the improvement benefits as they are developed and incorporated in TrojanHunter.
TrojanHunter's GUI provides easy-to-customize options both in the scanner module and the realtime monitor THGuard. The modules require minimal resources and are not bloated with features that slow down systems or detract from the primary design scope/objective of trojan/malware detection/removal.
New definitions are issued daily...most of the time 7 days per week. Gavin Coe, Mischel's trojan analyst, has dramatically ramped up the detection capability during 2006. Detection of trojans, keyloggers, rootkits, spyware, worms and other critters are being added and updated at a highly acceptable rate. A server in the Europe and the United States, coupled with incremental update capability in TH's LiveUpdate, provide quick updates even for dial-up users.
The personalized support of Mischel Internet Security's dedicated forum attempts to quickly meet the needs and problem resolution of existing and potential TrojanHunter users.
The $49 one-time licensing fee followed each year thereafter with a nominal annual subscription fee of $19(USD) is well worth the investment. I recommend this security program as a complement/supplement to anti-virus software.
Reviewing 5.0 Beta (Sep 11, 2006)
It's ok.
It's attempting to walk among the giants of the likes of TDS-3 and BoClean, unfortunatelly it fails.
Just watch it go against Rootkits and see how much it gets owned.
Good try but not good enough.
If you want the real thing get something along the lines of BoClean, they have been around for a long time and stood the test of time. I would have recommended TDS-3 and then Boclean but unfortunatelly TDS-3 quit in July of 2005 due to aggressive crap marketing by your own Michael from TH.
