Actually, it does cover this on the purchase page before you buy. "You will need to have an active internet connection to register yor copy of Turret Wars 1.7.2 that is not sitting behind a password protected proxy." And has stated this clearly since version 1.5

Addicting game, but if your behind a proxy, you can't activate the full version. They have no proxy support and I found out the hard way after purchasing. They also don't make any mention about no proxy support either, so if you are using a proxy, you can forget buying this niffty game.
