UPX GUI has a simple one-button operation, using the recommended two best settings with automatic comparison, and supports drag and drop for easy use. This installation file comes complete with the required UPX distribution which is preserved intact.

UPX is an executable packer - this GUI uses the windows console version. It can reduce the size of executable files substantially.

    This is quite good, except that it doesn't unpack, hence me using UPX Shell as well :S
    UPX shell is big because the executable bundles 3 version of UPX. I would prefer that the executable would no be built in, which is one of the things I like about UPX GUI.

    That UPX Shell link above goes to a 900k program that doesn't even compare the two best encryption settings _as sugggested in the UPX readme_. For my purposes, UPX Gui is 50 times better - I don't need any of those other features and I do want the best compression possible.
