USB Over Network 3.3.9
Publisher's Description:
USB Over Network is a revolutionary software solution from FabulaTech. No need to move devices from one computer to another, and no need to buy expensive hardware switches. You can access a USB device connected to a remote computer from your computer via a LAN or the Internet as if it were physically plugged into your own PC. The program consists of a "Server" and a "Client". You should install the Server on the computer to which the device you want to share is physically connected. You can install the Client on all PCs from which you need to access the shared device.

Tried a trial version some time ago.
My webcam wouldnt work with it.
TO EXPENSIVE
I hope the company heard me that time
(I sent them a email before)
And just how useful is this?
Scanner plugs into USB
Digital camera plugs into USB (but appears as a drive and can be shared)
Printer plugs into USB (but can be shared under most OSs)
So a scanner is the only thing I can think of using it for. And since you can buy a scanner from #25 (or 4 for the price of this software)
really what is the point ?

Can't you do this natively in Windows XP and even easier in Vista? just select the device and share it, then any networked PC can access it. obv doesnt work with mice/keyboards, but why would you need to share those over a network? works great with thumb drives, external HDDs, ext optical drives, printers, scanners, etc.
am i missing something here?

I give this a one for high cpu usage when transfering. I give this a one because it is $99 for something that should be no more than $19.99
I give this a 1 for the idea that somebody would be willing to pay $99 for software that can be done for about $49.99 in hardware with
"0" services, "0" CPU usage and "0" ram usage.
So let's see.
$49.00 Dedicated hardware based USB sharing
or
$99.00 Software based "think win-usb" USB sharing .
Seems like a no brainer to me.

I would do $29.95 or $40 max for it and then I would be willing to give it a 4 or 5.

Great product idea but too costly might be cheaper to just buy a NETWORK based product then unless you are sharing a lot.
I like the fact you can share USB Scanner over network its pretty cool.
