Vim is a text editor which includes almost all the commands from the Unix program "Vi" and a lot of new ones. It is very useful for editing programs and other plain text. All commands are given with the keyboard. This has the advantage that you can keep your fingers on the keyboard and your eyes on the screen. There is mouse support and a GUI version with scrollbars and menus.

    Perfectly!
Vim might not be the most user-friendly editor for Windows OS, but it is surely one of the feature-richest all-purpose editors. There is quite nothing you can't do with it or its huge script database (there's even some Twitter client for Vim). Also, its GUI GVim is very easy to customize.

Vim replaced N++ on my system a while ago. I never missed it.
