Never heard of this til today. I've tried Libre and Open Office. Both work fine to a degree but certain excel files don't open properly in both. But it worked in this WPS software. So with that factor and a much smaller download than those others, I would highly recommend this as an alternative to MS Office.

WHAT??? ... Do you really think that Kingsoft is spying on you??? Last time I've heard its the USA and Uncle Sam who's poking his nose in our business. Enough of that... This software is really an excellent alternative for Office and does a very commendable job. I have recommended Kingsoft to many and have yet to receive any negative feedback.

Well it's full featured, has a very good UI, is a complete unapologetic rip-off of MS Office (I wouldn't even be surprised if some of it's source code is incorporated) and connects to some Chinese server every time you open one if it's apps. It's good but comes with it's baggage.

This office suite is really good, I prefer it to Office 2013. I'm not even making it up, tabbed browsing and light interface makes this great to work with.

@willie333 - As 99% of all hardware is made in China/Taiwan/Korea/Thailand if they wanted to add back-doors it could be put in the hardware - I wonder where you get your USA made PC's boards from? Although from recent revelations it's not the Chinese doing the spying it's uncle sam ;-)
An alternative to the bloated & expensive MS office that few people ever use to it's full potential though I prefer the Softmaker office suite - Worth considering.

So it's very good for the price. As usable as MS Office and looks the same. However, this suite connects out constantly. Every time you open an app or a file it's reporting home for some reason. My firewall works overtime with this thing. Haven't been able to turn it off either. Get rid of the constant phoning home and it would be a 5.

A Chinese Office for free? Sorry, it sounds suspicious to me. Based on previous stories, who can guarantee they didn't put a backdoor there?

This is not really free but free for one year after which Kingsoft times-out and requires you to buy. Five stars for an otherwise excellent MS 2002 like suite but three stars for deceptive advertising.

I've been using this software a lot recently. I'm honestly surprised at how fast it loads on my (older) computer. I have used microsoft office (pc and mac) and neo office (mac), and this has loaded faster. I can't say enough about how much i enjoy being able to use tabs in a word processor. It's really convenient to just switch between tabs instead of opening up different windows. The download here is free, so there's no reason to not try it.
