Wasabi is a mostly open-source (zlib-licensed), cross-platform application framework and skinnable GUI toolkit, developed by Nullsoft. It includes Wasabi.player, the media player formerly known as Winamp3.
Wasabidev is a group of developers independent of Nullsoft who are working on improving and extending Wasabi. This includes updating Wasabi.player to be a (mostly) open-source equivalent to Nullsoft's Winamp. We submit any relevant modifications made to Wasabi back to Nullsoft, for use in Winamp and any future Wasabi-based projects.

Well I am not in favor of winamp, nor QCD/QMP. So the guy saying something about fans of those programs. Well Winamp, QCD/QMP are nice programs, I have no doubts bout this, and what's his name can't knock me for saying what I'm about to say. JETAUDIO is the best. LOL Well to each has their own perspective about these programs. Yes JetAudio blows the compition out of the water, including Winamp. How ever winamp isn't so bad. I went back to it, after I got fed up with the BS, going on at QCD's Support. They slowed to a dead beat halt, on their updates. But Winamp, crashes my PC. So I went JetAudio.

I think that Quintessential Media Player is better than Winamp and Wasabi!

wa5 loads VERY slow . Some people loved wa3 and this would be the latest of that series . I am using winamp 2.95 right now and i am glad i got rid of wa5 . The speed of both players is a leap from wa5 . I cant believe how slow wa5 was until i went back to wa2 ..
So its opensource eh ..hmmm
