WeatherBug is a product that delivers live weather to your Desktop. You can put local temperature next to your PC clock, retrieve forecasts for your zipcode, get up-to-the-minute InstaCam images and immediate storm warnings and alerts. It has animated radar images, cool content like trivia, city guide, and maps. It has the complete travel weather for any destination.

I like Weather Bug mainly because it included the amount of precipitation when it rains. I haven't found another weather program that does this.

jcs83md: yeah we all forgot that the world's weather changes as FAST as the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" would otherwise suggest.
The weather isn't stock information...its weather. Even if reports in other programs are delayed by anywhere from a few minutes to one hour, you aren't going to be stepping outside completely surprised by what advancements have occured in the weather since. "WTF?!!! THE DEW POINT HAS CHANGED BY 0.1!!! NO! MY WEATHER PROGRAM WAS COMPLETELY WRONG!"... *rolls eyes*
Besides, most people will consult the TV first before consulting a software program.
Yes that may be the old 2003 version, but the 6.06 version (screenshots are available at Softpedia) still contains ads and has a pretty piss-poor interface when compared to Weather1, Weather Pulse or Weather Watcher. Even CRAWLER weather has a better interface.
Softpedia did an in-house review. The few things that stand out are 1) the weatherbug toolbar (which you can choose not to install if you do custom install, however most newbie users stray away from custom install) 2) so many contrastng colors...hard window to keep open, 3) ads, ads, and some more ads. You'd figure that with all the ads in the program that it'd be free, but no, there is a $20 pro version.

Doesn't force you to install adware.. if you're an intelligent computer user.
Reviewing 6.05 (Nov 10, 2005)
Busy interface =( Forces you to install adware =(
Weather Watcher is my choice. Nice interface & low-resource use. I'm lovin' it!
Reviewing 6.05 (May 20, 2005)
One thing WeatherBug does offer that the others don't, is REALTIME updates rather than delayed ones.
The program itself is a bit busy and its adware but can't blame someone for trying to make a living off of it..

I love this proggy. As for the screenshot goes, it is that of version 5 but the the serials for the plus version will work for the V5's as well.
Reviewing 6.04 (Dec 14, 2004)
not sure what version your screen shot is but IT IS NOT the version that's been out for 7 months- 6.0
soooo- not sure how much on here is accurate if you're discussing the "new" version of WeatherBug with a screenshot of the 2003 version.
but, you don't have to install the search bar with WeatherBug- click the CUSTOM install instead of the Standard.

Have been a WeatherBug PRO/Plus user for 3 years, until V6 turned me totally off. The installation placed MySearchBar and MyWay on my system even though I said no during the installation. V6.04 is ugly, way over colorized, too busy, and too CPU/port intrusive. Plus Norton Antivirus deletes the minibug installer as adware. All this for $19.95 per year for Pro/Plus...boooooooooooo.
Weather Pulse V2.03 is now my "weather of choice"...free choice!

Ok.. I LOVE weatherbug BUT...
Version 6.0 SUCKS BIGTIME....
I think the main screen is WAY TOO BUSY. Too
much going on for one screen.
I LOVE version 5. When I wanted to see the radar image I clicked to get it, when I wanted the forcast I clicked to get it etc etc. Now everything is THROWN on to one BUSy page.
Can ANYONE out there help me get version 5 back. Does anyone have the install file for that.. Please....................
thanks

Crappy, bloated spyware. For a fast, FREE alternative, Weatherpulse kicks butt - http://www.tropicdesigns...p;pa=showpage&pid=1

This program has got to be the biggest resource hog. We have many complaints about slow PC's at work and after removing this software, we don't seem to have any more trouble. If you value your clock cycles don't download this
Reviewing 6.0 Beta (May 6, 2004)
I'm not going to say that this is spyware... but I haven't had this installed on my computer since probably the first or second editon of the software maybe 3 or 4 years ago? and I still get junk emails from them.
Reviewing 6.0 Beta (May 6, 2004)
Where's 6.0 beta? I downloaded and installed, and all it did was update me from 5.02 to 5.03. Still a great desktop weather program.
Reviewing 5.0 (Dec 30, 2002)
This version's much quicker than 4.0 was, and doesn't seem all botched with ads and popups (even though it does carry two banners, as before). I'd say it's an improvement.
Reviewing 4.0 (Jul 27, 2002)
WeatherBug is very reliable for your weather stations at home if you have a weather station with a Barometer on it. I used WeatherBug to calibrate my Barometer on my weather station. VERY RELIABLE USE AND FREE!!!!!! :)
Reviewing 2.6 (Jan 30, 2001)
This is by far the best live weather program. I love it. Its definitely worth trying.
Reviewing 2.6 (Nov 24, 2000)
Too bad it is only for US users ... I am from Europe and cannot use it. I think it is a great program. it even uses my winproxy settings.
Reviewing 2.5 (Sep 15, 2000)
THE best weather program available today. It is slick, small, and does the job. While it may not have a ton of info like that crap-made Weather1 program, WeatherBug has the most important/useful info -- and it's FREE! (It does display TWO ad banners in its great-looking window, but they can be prevented from ever showing by using another fine free product called WebWasher. :))
