Webroot FW (WFW) includes Dynamic Security Agent, a full-scope classical Host-based Intrusion Protection System (HIPS). This HIPS greatly enhances your antivirus program by offering behavior-blocker protection against zero-day and other unknown malware.

The firewall component of WFW uses a powerful Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI), and is fully configurable with rules setting to cover the preferences of any user. However, WFW offers excellent protection right out of the box, as well.

WFW is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista, INCLUDING 64bit Vista.

    Highly recommended.

Slows the boot. Too many alarms, especially when installing, uninstalling or updating programas. Some alarm windows appear behind other windows, not in the right lower corner.

To sirred2000 you need it in order to get the program installed.(Duhh...^_^) But the program is free and you only have to give a name and a email addie when you register for a key code. Which is less typing then you hat to when you registered here. ^_^

As for the program itself, i have been using it for 2 months now and i like it a lot better then those firewalls i used before it. So far i haven't noticed a thing about it that i do not like.

Very low on resources, doesn't pop up as much like Comodo..is easy to use and as far as i am aware there is no catch to Webroot Desktop firewall. With that i mean that it is fully functional, no limit ware...nagware or whatever.

I think you "Papa Lazarou" have missed the point. All outbound traffic are allowed for 7 days as Webroot Desktop Firewall is in a learning mode during that period, that is in Webroots own words: "new intelligent, "learning" firewall. It "watches" what you do; then learns from your activity to only interrupt you for abnormal activity". After 7 days Webroot will warn you if a new activity is trying to reach the internet. Not everyone likes Comodos intruding and annoying pop up windows. I think this is a very good firewall. It is light on memory, all ports are in stealth and it is free as a bird!
