    You must be kidding. Make a pack that converts crappy windows 8 into xp, than we have something to talk about.

    Installed Windows 8 on VMWare Player. Works great, VMWare Player that is running on Linux Mint Machine. You know what, you can keep Windows 8. Although it is fast even for a windows OS, is stinks as far as productivity and getting to and working on applications. It's all show and not much for customization.

    Just for fun, tried this on a virtual installation of XP. Wow. Long story short, made the newly patched OS unbootable. No big loss, but would be wary of this transformation pack.

    Why do I want to? I like Win7. XP to Vista was a stretch, but I did get use to that. Now, only 1 generation separated, you re-invent the gui again M$? Really? I'll do my best to pass on Win8 and, if I can't re-use my Win7 on my new build (hopefully within the next 2 years), I'll go full fledged Ubuntu. Win7 is arguably the best OS that M$ released (though I still like XP and use XP in a VM quite often and typing this now in my XP VM). I think this lame-brain move will be the coup de grâce that permanently damages them, but only time will tell. Apple's eating their lunch now and is running the risk of monopoly that M$ did a few years back. Maybe Apple will now bail out M$. lolololol
