Windows Media Components for QuickTime lets you can play Windows Media files (.wma and .wmv) directly in QuickTime Player and view Windows Media content on the Internet using a Web browser.
Reviewing 2.3.6.5 (Dec 9, 2010)
I have not installed QuickTime for 4 years....
I have not had any problems by not using QuickTime
the web does not use QuickTime anymore......
Reviewing 2.2.2.7 (Jun 10, 2009)
This is in fact version 2.2.3.7
Works pretty well for me. Slightly stupid that you're supposed to pay to make WMV files though.
Reviewing 2.1 (Jul 28, 2006)
It's nice... but... it could be better.
I wish it would actually use WMP to open these things, like in Windows... because you can get more options:
It would be easier to view fullscreen, ... um... well, that's about it. But I do want that sometimes.
But this is the only thing available to watch videos in your browser, so it's just sort of necessary. But personally, I hate using quicktime to actually watch videos.
Reviewing 2.1 (Jul 28, 2006)
Whish that this would work on windows also...
Quicktime to view avi, mpg, wmv on a pc would be nice. ;->
Reviewing 2.1 (Jul 28, 2006)
i only wish apple would do the same for their quicktime codecs.
Reviewing 2.0.1 (Jan 12, 2006)
Nice, works fine. I would say kudos to Microsoft for releasing this for Mac OS users also, but if you think about it they obviously want everyone to use Windows Media so it's not exactly an act of charity.
Reviewing 2.0.1 (Jan 12, 2006)
I have to give M$ credit for this, it's nice to have the ability to play these formats on Quicktime.
However, I and hopefully many other Mac users started using alternatives like Videolan. I only keep Quicktime for certain media on websites.
