Very nice. Works with HTML and PDF files. The audio pronunciation feature is handy. And if WordWeb doesn't know a word, it accesses the internet including Wikipedia, Wictionary or WordWeb Online to find you the information you need. With a purchased Pro version, you get the option to get geographical word lists, various different languages word lists amongst other options. (By the way, fileforum needs to update the picture of WordWeb. It's sorely outdated from the Windows 98 days.)

I have been using free version for ages and for general use, nothing beats this compact offline tool.

I've been using the Pro version of WordWeb for years. Wildcard searches are very handy when writing. Overall, very, very handy. The new lookup-from-any-application feature is wonderful.

In short, the free version is nice, but for writers or people serious about building vocabulary, the Pro version is well worth it.
