Contains USEFUL and non obvious tweaks only, unlike other programs with tons of crap.
Kudos to the author for making a meaningful tool.

Gets better and better with each release.
Really great application.
Change Log:
0.9.2.0
October 1st, 2009
- Program now tries to detect system locale.
- Added option to Disable/Enable the Libraries folder under
Windows 7. This is on the Win 7 Interface II page.
- Added third Windows 7 Interface page with two new features:
- New Regional Theme feature. This will enable regional themes
for English versions of Windows 7. I've only tested this on
the EN-US version of Windows 7.
- New Regional Wallpaper feature. This and the above feature
will add new items to the "Personalize" window.
- Hid the old AutoRun disable function and added a newer and
supposedly improved method for preventing programs (such as
malware) from auto-running from external media such as USB drives
or CD/DVD-ROMs. This is for XP/Vista/Windows 7.
- Added link to 3rd party program to let you customize the Windows 7
logon screen background. This on the UAC page under Windows 7.

Shows some promise, but a long way to go - so far it contains only a VERY limited number of tweeks. As for the comments about it needing .NET, that's no different from a Java app requiring a Java runtime to be installed. I'm not aware that installing .NET is going to put XP users out at all - other than it taking such a long time to install of course.
Aegis69 seems to have completely misread what this program does. The SafeXP program they recommend is for tweeking security settings - which as far as I can tell this program doesn't touch.

Aegis69,
Are you a dummy? This is a great app and just what I'm looking for.
Running Windows 7 x64 and the major glaring omission is the option to delete the send to, and replace it with move/copy.
That function alone is worth the price, if a meagre donation to the author!
Damn 'tards!

It has all the options that i need for tweaking my machine. others probably have more, but i do not need them. Small and stable.

Everything will require .net in the future?
HAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah I'd love to see a real software company force you to install that garbage before installing their app. And if you have a Mac or use Linux I'm sure you'd just going to find a .net port that will run on your machine.
Puhleese, 10 year olds leaving comments on software, thats just rich.
I don't have .net installed at all on my XP machine, and if I come across a crap program that needs it, I look for an alternative. And, for an alternative to this garbage, get SafeXP http://www.theorica.net/safexp.htm

as for .net... Resistance is futile. So get over it. Nice app, but lots of tweaks are missing. This program should only get better. I am anxious for the next build.

Not too bad, does have a few handy tweaks, but seen better.
Why do people still downgrade for .Net applications. Makes no real difference these days, it is the way many apps will go now, so learn to live with it!!

Do not install this piece of CRAP!! All the ratings are fake I know because I just bought a Vista 2 weeks ago downloading the codec packs for Vista and saw this program to help "tweak" it..now my new computer will not open but in "Safe", no internet connection NOTHING!! Even went to his website and he actually is asking for donations!! Beware of this program people, because I'm not an idot when it comes to the computer and never a problem with Beta News programs until this one.
daverage reviewed v0.8.8.5 on Nov 16, 2007
Really handy tweaks here. Small app as well! As an app writer I understand why people are using .net and you will see it more and more with windows and especially vista!
Great app :)
burfadel reviewed v0.8.8.4 on Nov 15, 2007
Great programme! Why rate the programme so low for using .Net framework? there's going to be more and more programmes using it in the future so get used to it now. A well written .Net programme is actually quite good, like this one. Its not some ridulous 2 to 4mb monster of a VB app like many people would rather use. .Net 3.5 is coming out next year, and its from then that you should expect more programmes to gradually use it.

i like this one the best. all the essential tweaks are there. easy to undone. my favorite for vista. i recommend this to all.

Good job! However, it only added a couple customizations I did not already have. Would like to see someone do some serious context menu alterations in a freeware program such as this.

It runs like a charm on my Vista. Thanks for a GREAT tweaking program. Much appreciated ! !

"What a waste of time. Installed on Vista as administrator. Ran as administrator and all I get is a message telling me the program has stopped working. Why don't people test their software any more?"
You're right....Microsoft should've tested Vista before they released it.
imemine reviewed v0.8.8.2 on Sep 24, 2007
any good xp tweak program is valuable, this one has a couple ive not seen in others, i hope in time more are added, so it becomes a 'user requested' feature program with good tweaks, as tweak xp is good too but they added so much chaff to it.
id like to see the option to remove all the windows media player 'rightclick menu' texts, but still have it maintain the associations of .avi .mpg and the like..i wonder why it breaks that...

Excellent app. It's the best tweaking program for Vista I've come across, and it's free.
Thanks to this app:
* Vista actually respects my folder view customisations
* Network Connections and the Windows 2000 style User Accounts applets are back in the Control Panel
* The Send To menu can be disabled
* You can easily take ownership of files and folders under Vista
horsecharles reviewed v0.8.8.0 on Sep 5, 2007
This is VERY useful and does NOT merit any rating below 4... it does not cause any problems, has a large amount of tweaks, and should get brownie points for coming out so early for Vista.
The things i deemed missing in previous review also apply to most other tweakers anyhow-- i'd like to see them, but otherwise, keep up the good work.

"Updated license file!" Woo-hoo! This is the upgrade we've all been waiting for!

A nice little utility providing good features.
The to-the-point single utility will kind of hamper it from adding too much more functionality as the list (might?) grow.
Also, a tweak tool which requires the .NET runtimes doesn't seem too right to me! :)
I think a tweak tool should be dependent on as little as possible.
horsecharles reviewed v0.8.7.7 on Aug 26, 2007
This needs a coupla things:
1. A way to know the current state of each particular tweak.
2. Each pertinent registry key and/or script/policy/system settings change.
peterj1978 reviewed v0.8.7.7 on Aug 25, 2007
Really nice little utility to handle those small things that are pestering you and it's free.
nilst2006 reviewed v0.8.7.7 on Aug 25, 2007
This is a very good tweaker for those that don't want to mess around in the registry editor. Even i as an advanced user find this useful. More good tweaks would give a five, but a four is not bad.
kronix2 reviewed v0.8.7.7 on Aug 24, 2007
The "Take Ownership" addition to the context menu is very useful, as is the ability to add Network Connections to the Control Panel.
Galifray reviewed v0.8.7.7 on Aug 24, 2007
It has some nice tweaks, but one seriously nasty show stopper of a bug. After the first use, I cannot get it to maximize. It runs, it appears in the task bar, it just does not appear. If I close it, by right clicking from the task bar, it closes. Restarting it leaves in permanently minimized except for a brief flash on screen when it starts up.
Admittedly, I should not need to retweak settings, but if I do, I cannot with this program. It will not let me.
