I am glad I got to try DVD Santa out before purchasing. I tried to convert an Avi movie to dvd. The program supposedly converted and copied onto DVD. The first part of the movie was great, then after that the soundtrack did not match the film. There is no customer service. Stay away from this program.

This product is really horrible.. I dont understand y it is so recommended. Maybe i just dont know how to use it. But it is supposed to be for newbies!!!!!
1- I tried to convert from minidv to dvd. Although it seems all right during capture, the file turns out to be with no video and very very slow audio.
Thought my pc was too slow so i borrowed a friends brand new 2.4 gig 512 meg intel 4 pc. Same thing except audio works fine, but still no video. There are not much options to configure to arrange anything either.
2-Decided to use windvd to convert from minidv to avi.. worked fine.
3-Used dvdSanta to convert avi file to dvd,,, completely slow audio .. audio is lagged by alot and also slowed down....
4-Dound a tutorial on the web to show step by step how to use Nero... works just fine.
Although the program is simpler in effect to use for a beginner, it does not seem to work, regardless of a p4 1.2 gig or a 2.4 gig with a 16X dvd writer -rw +rw dual layer... 512meg ram or 256meg ram.... it did not work on either computer!! any other ppl have this problem, i dont know. I just know that other programs are way better!

Quite a good quality , easy to use vid file-to-DVD transcoder. Can even do subs (making sure that your vid file & sub file reside in the same folder you are pointing it at to convert for you.) It does cough up a hairball occasionally when trying to convert, but that happens mostly because you are missing a codec or have an oone installed that's older than the file being converted needs. DVDSanta doesn't give you "archival quality", but for a quick & easy app to give you something playable for your standalone dvd player, this can do it!

I've only used the previous version. It has no configurability, limited options and an interface so cheap and cheezy that it almost condemns the prouct by itself.

And for someone like nyself who has no a/v editing skills it is superb - I can now create video DVDs (of very respectable quality) where previously I was unable to. I's also worth noting that this makes DVD video from Real media w2hich is unusual, and does it with no loss of quality - which is unheard of.

I suspect people are comparing this with more sophisticated and deriding Santa as far too easy - and totally missing the point.

Santa's for the kids not the grown-ups!
