I've heard about foobar being minimalistic audio player. It is and please take it as it is. Add skinning, internet radios, video and some other features and people start looking for some other minimalistic audio player :).

It amazes me that someone could severely criticize the GUI and then still rate it a 5. Yes, I understand that the software does a lot, and that the sound quality is great. But if it's a pain in the rump to use, doesn't that count for at least .6 star? If not--if the crappy GUI is not even worth docking .6 star--then it's also not a point worth mentioning (so thoroughly and emphatically) in the first place. I switched from J. Retard Media Center and am so used to that program's handy "Playing Now" feature, it took me a long time to get my bearings with foobar2000. I eventually got it figured out, but it was much more hassle than it should have been.
