kX Project Audio Driver is an independent WDM driver for all EMU10K1/2-based soundcards manufactured by Creative and/or E-mu Systems Inc., including the SoundBlaster Live! series, the E-mu Audio Production Studio (APS) card, and the Audigy series of cards.

Latest Changes:

• Fixed multichannel playback in Vista
• Minor Vista compatibility issues fixed
• Fixed AC-3 decoding/passthrough in Vista (via separate SPDIF device)
• Improved compatibility with certain TV-Tuners (WinXP)
• Removed joystick INF file, since it did not work anyway
• Fixed Master volume in sndvol32.exe and minor Mixer API-related fixes (WinXP, Vista)

This is like the best alternative out there for creative drivers if you're after sound quality and not EAX and stuff. Even though it is complicated - but there are tons of presets available for download. Great thing.
