wTicker will aggregate information from the Internet and displaying them as headlines. Headlines can be built by information coming from newsfeeds, email accounts, stocks, scraped websites, usenet and others. The headlines are displayed in tickers which may be positioned anywhere on the screen.

R.I.P., wTicker.
Not sure what happened to Christian. He was a good programer and a good guy.

Invoking your "mom" instantly shoots all credibility out the door.
It's easy to say that someone who doesn't like the GUI hasn't "given it a fair shake". But you could say that about anything. Hey, why not take away the entire interface, make it a command line application, make it require manual editing of text-based configuration files like Apache or something, and THEN still accuse people of not giving it a fair shake?
I agree with the others who have said: The interface is terrible. I'm sure I could figure it out, but it's too much of a hassle. And it shouldn't be a hassle at all.
By the way, the wTicker author agrees: "This aggregator is rather powerful, but a little complex. I guess, this is just another way of saying, that I have usability problems. I'm working on this." Go ahead, argue with the author's own admission that the GUI needs work.

first time i rate a prog. this one is amazing. you got a rss reader, podcast reader all better that those i tried before. and you get a news ticker. i currently have 7 tickers on my screen. highly configurable. very light. no installation. this prog is amazing. love it.
yes, the gui is different. but in fact, the gui is better. yes, at first i didnt know how to create a group, then i realised that when you create a new feed the prog ask you in which existing group you want to put it or to create a new one. that's it. and that is the only probleme i encountered with the gui.
are you like my mom, that is you need a week of preparation before you dare turn on you're computer. come on, dont screw rating. this prog is fabulous, amazing, ****ing beautiful !!!! and it's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Those who rate this program low or make negative comments probably haven't given it a fair shake.
Get past the U/I and look to functionality and stability - while using minimal resources.
The program is the best RSS reader out there.

Once you spend 84 hours figuring out how to use it and configuring it, wTicker really starts saving you time and aggravation.
Worst.
Interface.
Ever.
