  1. Review - avast! Free Antivirus

    5.0.104 Beta (Sep 9, 2009)

    At home I have 3 PC's and a server.

Of the 3 PC's, 1 has been running Avast! and the other 2 Avira AntiVir. The onlt computer that has become infected with viruses and damage caused over the past 2 years is the PC running Avast! Avira AntiVir has always caught everything before any damage has been caused, Avast! hasn't.

Now all 3 PC's are running Avira AntiVir and I feel much safer.

Avast! is the next best (free) thing compared to AntiVir though IMHO.

If I was purchasing an Anti Virus program, it wouldn't appear on my list of considerations though.

  2. Review - Avira Free Antivirus

    8.1.0.326 (Jul 17, 2008)

The best free anti-virus - full stop!

  3. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v2) for Windows

    2.0.0.15 (Jul 1, 2008)

etalmar: The link was for Firefox 3 and was then changed back to Firefox 2 - that's why I wrote my comments for FF3 here.

  4. Review - Mozilla Firefox (v2) for Windows

    2.0.0.14 (Jun 17, 2008)

I only thing I feel lets it down a tiny bit is the interface - I don't like the buttons on the default theme.

Apart from that; it feels much quicker than Firefox 2 and has some nice new features.

Firefox 3.0 is definitely my browser of choice by quite a margin.

P.S. You can download from FileHippo now: http://www.filehippo.com/download_firefox/

  5. Review - Microsoft Windows Live Writer

    2008 Final (May 29, 2008)

Excellent really - makes it very easy for all users to update their blog(s).

My only criticism is the Windows Live Installer - a stand alone installer would be much better IMO.

  6. Comment - Steve Jobs says 'No Interest' in iPhone 4 radiation app, devs release it anyway

    2008 Final (Mar 24, 2011 - 4:55 AM)

No interest? Lol - what a douche bag Jobs is sometimes. He has plenty of interest in fart apps though I hear.

  7. Comment - Whose iPhone data is faster, Verizon or AT&T?

    2008 Final (Mar 8, 2011 - 6:57 AM)

Doesn't look too good on either network to me...

Here in the UK on 3 I get around 6Mbps down, 1.6Mbps up and pings of around 55ms. (Not using Wi-Fi - just using HDSPA)

  8. Comment - Fennec gets renamed Firefox 4 with latest beta update

    2008 Final (Oct 8, 2010 - 8:11 AM)

It's actually working pretty well on my HTC Desire (running Desire HD ROM). The Alpha was terrible for me - this is a huge improvement in every way. :)

  9. Comment - Firefox 4 beta 5 beefs up video, audio, security features

    2008 Final (Sep 8, 2010 - 3:10 AM)

Running the new beta now - first thing I noticed was that the font rendering looks different. It looks soft. Not sure if I like it much.
