  1. Review - Web CEO

    6.5 (Dec 18, 2006)

I have to "warn" you: I used this trial few months ago and since then, these guys don’t stop to send me spam emails (so called "offers" and "newsletter" etc. but I never subscribed to that spam).

I had to put their email address into the black list of our mail server, in order to get rid of their spam (unsubscribe was just always ignored).

I consider this behaviour as dubious and just for this reason, I would not buy anything from them (even if it would be good)

  2. Review - Dupehunter Professional

    6.0.0.2725 (Dec 18, 2006)

Good if you have only small amount of duplicate files. I used it to scan a directory with over 700.000 files. It found about 300.000 dupes pretty fast (4-5 hours). However, it needed about 52 hours to delete all!!

  3. Review - KeePass Password Safe Classic Edition

Looks like a clone of Password Depot :)

Keepass leaves traces of the passwords in RAM, has no protection against keylogging and clipboard from spyware.

I prefer Password Depot, which more stable and is also freeware (freeware is limited to 20 passwords which should be sufficient for most user).

  4. Review - Password Depot

    3.0.2 (Dec 16, 2006)

By far the best and most secure password manager I found. I think it is wrong to compare this tool with freeware like keepass... Maybe the UI looks similiar, but Password Depot leaves no traces of the passwords in RAM! Unlike keepass and other clones it includes protection from keylogging and protects your clipbaord from spyware.

There is a server module, it works with internet files and USB sticks. Good support and updated on regular basis (already vista compatible, etc.)

If you dont want to buy it, you can use it as freeware.
