2.1 Beta (Dec 27, 2012)
Excellent program.Period.
ALWAYS has been excellent.
The programs does NOT "break computers", USERS break computer, especially users who KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE REGISTRY.
I have always had a basic principle, and have taught it to many.
And that is thus: "IF you DO NOT know what the registry entry does, then LEAVE IT BLOODY WELL ALONE".
ALWAYS will save you issues, as well as "broken computers".
PLEASE stop blaming an excellent program for USER STUPIDITY.
Thank you.
Have used for MANY years with ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES EVER!
5.0.0.158 (Dec 2, 2011)
I have a good one for you. This is a DANGEROUS program. Why? you may ask, simple. I ran this on my Windows XP box, and after it "cleaned" my PC, I did a reboot. AND GOT THE SHOCK OF MY LIFE. My XP was now NO LONGER ACTIVATED. And I had 3 days to activate. Mind you it was activated, and is a very legal copy. So I had to go through activation AGAIN. I IMMEDIATELY deleted this app, and I now WARN ALL OF MY FRIENDS TO BE VERY WARY OF THIS APP.
3.6.1 (Nov 15, 2011)
I installed version 3.6.0 recently, and I have NOT noticed any "extras" being autoloaded at all. AND have scanned for malware and guess what? NOTHING!
Works VERY well, and is NOT infected...PERIOD.
3.60-980 Beta (Oct 12, 2010)
Fantastic program. And YES, it does what it says, and YES it is COMPLETELY PORTABLE IF YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
@jackmehoff: I agree. NOOBS are the only ones who will complain because they DO NOT read instructions and SETTINGS.
@Blaxima, and @Cionno: IT IS PORTABLE. you VERY SIMPLY just have to set config correctly. In the area for persistent driver, just UNCHECK the box. SIMPLE ENUF 4 U?
Now then, this program is simply awesome, it gives a boar load of hardware info. Basically it is a hardware junkies best friend.
4.5.0.233 (Aug 25, 2010)
I have been using this firewall for about the past 4 versions.
I dumped Comodo because it was WAY too bloated.
I personally CANNOT see why all thses people are complaining about this program "slowing their computer and internet down". I have an OLD machine (AMD K6(2)-450MHz with 384MB RAM, an old 16MB video card, and Windows XP with SP2 (cannot use SP3 it caused issues)).
So if this program would slow down a computer I would DEFINITELY notice it, AND IT DOES NOT SLOW IT DOWN AT ALL. PERIOD.
Personally I think it is their LACK of config'ing it right or some other software that does not play nice with it.
This program works like a CHAMP on my system.

Just LOVE when an IDIOT decides to post SPAM as a comment on an article.
BetaNews really NEEDS to check into this.

A question to Paul Lush... How long have you used Maxtor drives?
I have used them for MANY years, and found them to be more reliable than Western Digital or most others for that matter.
In fact the one in the machine I am using right now is OVER 10 YEARS old. And guess what?
NO PROBLEMS EVER!
In fact I mostly recommend Maxtor to my customers.

I found a program called Quintessential Player.
This program runs a boat load faster on my machine. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed winamp, but v5 looked cool, but ran dog slow.
Quintessential Player run wonderfully.
Give it a try.
