  1. Comment - Mozilla and Google force businesses to use Internet Explorer

Gee, a 5 year old version of Firefox. I'm sure there couldn't possibly be a known security vulnerability in that.

My guess as to why Chrome's number have soared has nothing to do with what type of browser it is. It most likely has everything to do with Google.com suggesting you upgrade to Chrome in the top-right corner of the screen when you go there under any other browser.

I know that seems silly, but thats the kind of thing that generates massive marketshare.

Oh good! They've adopted the Leisure Suit Larry versioning scheme. :)

  4. Comment - Opera to launch 'Turbo' for faster Web browsing

    (Feb 14, 2009 - 11:53 AM)

It may not be widely used, but Opera is far from a piece of junk. It's been my browser of choice for a long time, and I find it much more appealing to use than both IE and Firefox.

  5. Comment - Report: Apple 'iTunes Replay' service rumored

    (Feb 14, 2009 - 11:51 AM)

Because Netflix is about to walk away with Apple's online video renting lunch, that's why. Apple TV is a dud in comparison to their grasp on the music industry. The prices and timespan for online renting via iTunes isn't very competitive, either. But I guess the prices wouldn't be too terrible if the selection was decent, but unfortunately most new movies are stuck with a 'buy' button and no 'rent' button.

Meanwhile, Netflix has a monthly fee that includes blurays to my door and unlimited online streaming of what is becoming a better and better streaming library. Apple needs to be where people go for renting online, but at the current rate, that isn't going to happen. A more serious effort behind AppleTV needs to happen, and iTunes needs to realize that Netflix and Amazon on demand pose a threat.
