  2. Review - Microsoft Windows Live OneCare

    2.0.2500.14 Beta (Dec 18, 2007)

I can't say the OneCare has ever let a virus though, but it does block Microsoft ActiveSync by default and also the backup system forgets my network location each day.

  3. Review - AutoHotkey

  4. Review - PHP

    5.2.5 (Nov 13, 2007)

You can't find a better language than PHP.

Used to C++? PHP can do your OO programming.

Like your procedural language like BASIC or MODULA2? PHP can do it...

PHP, of course, works brilliantly with mySQL, which gives the world LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).

PHP is also a great AJAX backend too.

I've used many langages and PHP is all of them!

  5. Comment - Did HP do the wrong thing by killing off TouchPad?

HP - nice laser printers, shame about everything else.

  6. Comment - Windows Phone evangelist quits Microsoft, says he'll still use Windows Phone

    So, basically, RIP Nokia.

  7. Comment - Apps on the TV: still a pipe dream

    5.2.5 (Jul 26, 2011 - 12:40 PM)

Not sure if we are ever going to see Twitter and Facebook on-screen apps in the UK. According to a document I have:

"One significant problem in some markets (especially Europe) is content integrity.

Broadcasters defend their copyright and forbid others to re-purpose their material.

Courts in the UK have defended this right by broadcasters to block widget activity"

  8. Comment - Are you one of the 20 million Google+ users?

    5.2.5 (Jul 23, 2011 - 2:57 AM)

Yes, and I have Joe Wilcox in one of my circles. I really like the circles, I can separate my interests and not bore my friends with my work, and separate people I actually have met from people who I might like to.

The integration into other Google products, which I use (GMail, Google Reader, Mapping etc) makes it a much better experience than Facebook.

Also, the Facebook Android app has stopped working on my TF101, but G+ works well on Android (for some reason).

  9. Comment - Windows Phone 7 users sure are satisfied

I note that rwalrond and lydiamws are sock puppets...
