  1. Comment - Microsoft Offers Virtual Server Preview

Be careful NOT to use "vspreview" which is another ID that has been linked with this program. It gets you into a virtual server area, but there are no download links. vscp worked great for me

Very good point about the hardware. You don't expect your Playstation or Gamecube games to crash, and they don't, because it's easy to achieve stability with known hardware.

Everyone should remember that Microsoft and Apple are two very different companies with very different products and goals. Putting asides MS's business practices, it's fair to say they have a much harder time improving their software with new releases because of:

    - Millions of hardware configurations (as mentioned)
    - Support of thousands of off the shelf apps (personal, commercial, games, etc.,)
    - A huge customer base that is *very* resistent to change even though they clamour for improvements to their products

Apple has much more limited number of platforms, customers, customer types (their specialty markets, education, graphic arts, "creative" businesses, etc). They have the relative luxury of trying to satisfy a much smaller and managable group of customers. It would be reasonable to expect that within those customer groups, the Apple machines and OS software *should* perform considerable better than Windows as it does not have to be a "jack of all trades"
