When I posted my comments, I did not exspect the nasty attack from zridling. I reported by experience with it, so that others might think twice about downloading it. I have used Windows successfully for years and have no intention of using a Mac. I have no grudge against MS and no predisposed bias against them. The error was not from anything I did but from the software. Keep your malicious personnal attacks to your self and just stick to reviewing the software and not the the reviewer. FileForum may wonder why more people don't post reviews and you have previded the reason.

I agree about the quality of the program and could not live without it. But their policy about informing users about updates has declined. I was informed about the latest update by FileForum(Thank You). Even though TechSmith sent out a newsletter on 3-15-05 and the update release was 3-15-05,no mention of the SnagIt update was mentioned. True they have a link on the program to check for updates and I do every few weeks but there is no automatic notification that there is an update. Get Real!

I have an WD 120gb External Hard Drive, which I store my graphic files on(about 30gb worth). I have several adware and spyware programs and Virus Protection and Firewall and they never showed any bad stuff on this drive. I installed the MS program as it was on the Windows Update Site when it first appeared in January. It totally corrupted the drive and I lost all 30gb's of graphic files and projects. XP restore could not do anything. Luckly WD had a tool that enabled me to recover most of it. I still lost the most recent files I had worked on and edited earlier that day. So be forwarned,DO NOT INSTALL THIS PROGRAM,it destroys without notifying first or gives options like quartine first. There is plenty of other good freeware that does the same job without any problems.

I am not a computer geek, just an artist who uses a computer. I don't usually do reviews but the last one I read was a bad one so I decided to contribute mine. This program has saved many image and font cd collections I made that Roxio's various versions managed to mess up. I would have lost alot of work not to mention the time put in to make the cd collections, if it weren't for this program which I purchased.

They forgot to mention, that IconWorkshop can convert Mac Icons to Windows format. This is the number one feature that distinguishes it from other icon editors and the reason after trying it I purchased it. Don't know why they didn't put it in description?
