  1. Review - Dropbox

    1.1.16 Experimental (Apr 13, 2011)

I like the program but I will remove sensitive files from the backup as severe security flaws have been discovered recently (http://dereknewton.com/2...ication-static-host-ids/)

  2. Review - Yakoo Manager

    0.2 Beta 1.2 (Mar 19, 2010)

Able to install the program, unable to start it (crash, win7 x64)
4 stars because may be a x64 compatibility problem and because this program 'may' be the program I'm searching for (managing divx)

  3. Review - Trillian

    4.1.0.16 Beta (Nov 13, 2009)

One of the best multi-network IM around .. no doubt.
It's subjective but for me it's the best

  4. Review - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

    1.38 (Jun 18, 2009)

Clearly one of the best antispyware that I've tested. I'm regularly cleaning infected computers. Usually Kaspersky + Malwarebyte + Autoruns are doing the job. In some cases, I made use of other tools like sdfix, smitfraud (mainly)

  5. Review - Aston

    1.9.5 (Jul 4, 2007)

I've tested a lot of desktop managers. On my opinion, Aston is clearly one of the best.
You can't install it .. look at it and after 5mn say 'yes it's good' or 'no, it's bad'. You have to make your own settings, use it for several hours or days .. and then .. well you will see that it's a very good piece of software. Very few problems with win32 (never used with Vista) ... unfortunately, the windows x64 compatibility is not perfect.
Aston can not be compared with Samurize; clearly not the same objectives.

  6. Comment - One week on Gmail has me pining for Outlook

    1.9.5 (Jun 24, 2011 - 10:52 AM)

I agree fully. Switched two years ago to gmail for ease of use/sync with my android phone. But, no way, I don't like the label system used byt gmail. I'm using Thunderbird for archiving locally emails and access them outside the cloud

  7. Comment - Look to the heavens and fight malware with Panda Cloud Antivirus 1.5

    1.9.5 (Jun 22, 2011 - 5:22 AM)

Antiwpa.dll is detected as a malware by many anti-malware/antivirus programs

  8. Comment - Do you still own iPad?

    1.9.5 (Mar 1, 2011 - 12:38 PM)

I have tested an iPad for one week. As it was for testing purposes, I was searching for free things. It's very difficult to find free stuff (I mean completely free). It's amazing the number of games or apps labeled as free in the apple store but not really free ... 'paid before everything else' is really boring. After two days ... no other solution ... I've jailbreak the iPad. Clearly Android is better there. Besides this point, the interest of an iPad/ tablet? May be a very good replacement of a netbook/netpc ie emailing, cloud computing, web stuff of video playing when moving. But for sure, back to home or office, we leave the tablet.

  9. Comment - Really? New Windows Phone 7 commercials rock

    1.9.5 (Oct 12, 2010 - 9:37 AM)

On a TV news yesterday, they talked about Windows Phone 7. There's usually very few tech. informations on this TV. That is the markting power of microsoft: talking about it not only in specialized newspapers, or TV shows .. the coming of Windows Phone 7 is everywhere.

PS: In this article particularly, the amount of "I" is amazing .. please Joe try to write your news without turning around you ;)

  10. Comment - One very false positive: McAfee in full damage control mode

    1.9.5 (Apr 24, 2010 - 2:49 AM)

This post make me smile: no problem with AVG and free prog. are better
Few months ago, an AVG update was causing a blue screen of death. A great part of infected computers that I've to clean are running a free antivirus (Avast or Antivir mainly).. or no antivirus of course. I've to clean very few computers with paid antivirus. I'm not working for a big antivirus company, just a technician that see what happens. Free antivirus are not bad but for a "normal" family (porn and p2p for the 16old boy or the father xD, msn for the 12old girl) they are simply just not good enough.
