  1. Review - ooVoo for Windows

    3.0.4.38 (May 19, 2011)

This is the greatest video chat software ever invented. I haven't tried the Windows version yet, but on Android this is the only app that supports the Dell Streak 5's front facing camera. The Windows software can't be much worse than the Android version and it's not that hard to add support for a front facing camera in a video chat app under Froyo or Eclair. It's just as easy as it is in Gingerbread.

  2. Review - Dropbox

    1.1.27 (Apr 23, 2011)

Dropbox's data encryption feature doesn't work at all.

  3. Review - Google Chrome for Windows

    12.0.742.0 Beta (Apr 21, 2011)

Anyone that has to do a clean install because of Google Chrome must be an idiot and should never be allowed to use a computer. Installing any malware free 3rd party browser like Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera will never, ever hose a Windows install. Don't blame a major software company for your lack of computer knowledge. That's your problem.

Google Chrome is the gold standard. Heck, Google is the gold standard for just about every product they make. Now if Google could just add support for bookmark sync with the stock Android web browser on phones that would be totally awesome.

  4. Review - CoolNovo (formerly ChromePlus)

    1.6.1.0 (Apr 21, 2011)

It's not as good as the official Google Chrome browser, but then cheap quality knockoffs never are.

  5. Review - Wine

    1.3.18 Development (Apr 18, 2011)

If you want to run Windows apps then just get Windows. Wine doesn't run Windows programs any better than ReactOS does.

  6. Comment - Google Offers beta should scare the crap out of Groupon, other startups

    1.3.18 Development (Jun 2, 2011 - 2:39 AM)

It's not like Google is proactively telling your significant other that you used an escort service or went to a strip club with your buddies. Quit making it something that's worse than it really is.

  7. Comment - Maybe Steve Jobs should reconsider the iPhone radiation app after all

    1.3.18 Development (Jun 1, 2011 - 3:25 PM)

@rjparker1 - Regarding the app rejection, maybe you need to pay attention better because you're wrong. Steve Jobs himself said the app was rejected because he wasn't interested. Not because it didn't work like it was supposed to (it does BTW). The app is supposed to measure approximate radiation levels and that's exactly what it did. It's about as accurate as measuring cell phone radiation as Google Maps is at getting your location with nothing but cell phone towers.

  8. Comment - Google Offers beta should scare the crap out of Groupon, other startups

Guess what? Most of what you do in public ends up in your public records anyways. Bought a 2,000 square foot house at (insert address here)? Now everyone on the planet can access that information at anytime they want without your permission. Everyone can also see which vehicles you lease or own and the bank you financed through (if applicable).

Stop complaining about Google's storing of public information. It's not a big deal if it's already in public records or if said event occurred in public.

  9. Comment - Google Offers beta should scare the crap out of Groupon, other startups

Using Google Wallet is no less secure than swiping a card using the magnetic strip. All transactions go directly through Mastercard or Visa just like any other credit card transaction. Google Wallet is completely identical to the wallet you stick in your pocket except for the fact that Google is electronic and securely stores the credit card info in your phone making it impossible for anyone to get your credit card info.

  10. Comment - Will someone please develop an anti-texting-while-driving app?

    1.3.18 Development (May 31, 2011 - 1:06 AM)

Thank you for the web address. Now I can add http://iQ-Telematics.com to my blacklist.
