Extraordinary virtualization tool. One aspect they need to significantly improve is handling external USB devices (e.g. USB hard drives) - occasionally it's pain in the neck to make client recognize the USB device. VMware Player's mechanism of switching peripherals between host and client is much, much better.
Regardless, five stars for VirtualBox, no doubt about that.
7.0 Release 3 Beta (Jun 12, 2008)
I really hope Nokia will optimize this application in the future. At the moment, it's THE most bloated software I know, even compared to Symantec products.

A ripper cannot be "the most accurate" - it is either accurate or inaccurate. Personally, I don't see any reason why people idolize this application. It does it's job, but is it fundamentally better than Audiograbber or any other freeware ripper? I don't think so.

The point of using Mono on Windows is that you can do the coding and testing in user-frendly environment (Windows) and then deploy your web application on budget-friendly environment (Linux Server), using exactly the same development framework.

Microsoft clearly states that it requires IE6 and WinXP, so you have to be a moron to underrate the program because it doesn't work with IE7 beta...

Actually, if they really did it (which I doubt), it may get them jobs at the CIA or the NSA... ;)

You got it wrong - they are talking about "sales growth", not sales volumes. When your Enterprise market share is marginal, as Apple's, then growth rates can be huge.

Apple's market capitalization reflects simply investors' stocks valuation, and investors account "expected future profits" in. I'm not saying they are wrong about Apples future prospect, but trading with future value is inherently risky business (e.g. real-estate market).
I would not scratch Microsoft that easily. They certainly proved that the company is capable of doing business and withholding strong market position even without Gates at the CEO position.
Similarly, Steve Jobs is Apple's single most valuable asset, but the company has yet to prove that the ship is capable of winning battles after captain Jobs retires one day (they were at the very edge of bankruptcy last time he left the company).

Speaking of "unproven platform", that may be true considering that we are talking about something that yet has to be shipped to the market. However, since Silverlight is announced as development platform for WM7, existing number of C# and Silverlight developers worldwide probably outnumber iPhone SDK developers ten-to-one.
Microsoft needs to create competitive business model that will attract people to develop apps for the new platform. Anyway, the most popular mobile apps are going to be availabe for all mobile platforms (Android, Blackberry, iPhone, Symbian, WM7...)

Actually, you can download the newest Android SDK 2.0.1 free of charge. All you need (apart from the SDK itself) to develop for Android is Eclipse + ADT Plugin, also available for free. Linux, MacOS and Windows are all supported as development platforms.
You only have to pay ($25) if you want to register as a developer at Android Market (i.e. to be able to publish your application).
Also, I heard that Motorola has its own development tool, also based on Eclipse - MOTODEV for Android, but haven't tested it yet.
Regarding "frustrating" development, OK it can't be really compared to Microsoft development tools and MSDN, but learning curve is reasonably fast and SDK is well documented. Platform itself and programming model are very modern and flexible, I am truly delighted.
